Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Jeff Torrisi on his promotion. Officer Jeff Torrisi was promoted from Patrolman to Sergeant effective Tuesday, February 6th , 2024.
Sgt. Jeff Torrisi is a 25-year veteran of the Methuen Police Department. He was born and raised in Methuen.
Prior to his promotion, Sgt. Torrisi was serving the Methuen Police Department as a detective assigned to the F.B.I. Transnational Organized Crime Task Force.
Sgt. Torrisi graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1993 and later graduated from University of Massachusetts Lowell with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Sgt. Torrisi continued his education, and eventually graduated from Western New England College, in 2002, with a master’s degree in criminal justice administration.
Sgt. Torrisi began his career with the Methuen Police Department as an Auxiliary Police Officer in 1996. He served as a dispatcher for one year prior to becoming a full-time police officer upon his graduation from the Lowell Police Academy in 1999.
Sgt. Torrisi worked as a patrol Officer in the Field Operations Bureau for four years before he was assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO). While working as an SRO, he was assigned to the Timony Grammer School, the Comprehensive Grammar School, and the Marsh Grammer School.
Sgt. Torrisi served as a K-9 Officer from 2007 through 2014. During this time, he participated in numerous arrests and searches while assisting the Narcotics Unit.
Sgt. Torrisi was then assigned to the Traffic Unit, where he served from 2014 through 2018, and thereafter was given his most recent assignment with the F.B.I. Task Force.
Sgt. Torrisi has also served as an advisor to the Methuen Police Explorer’s Program for 27 years.
Sgt. Torrisi was recognized as the Exchange Club Police Officer of the Year in 2002, in connection with the bravery he demonstrated while extracting a family from a house fire on Stevens Street that same year.
During his off duty time, Sgt. Torrisi volunteers as a coach with Methuen Youth Soccer.
Sgt. Torrisi resides in Methuen with his wife Kellie of 23 years and his two children, Julianna (Age 20) and Cooper (Age 15). Sgt. Torrisi comes from a well-known law enforcement family. His dad, Alfred Torrisi, was a long serving member of the Methuen Police Department himself. Al Torrisi served the department with distinction for many years before retiring in 2001.
