Please join us in congratulating Sgt. David Mambro on his promotion. Officer David Mambro was promoted from Patrolman to Sergeant on Thursday, January 4, 2024. He began his first shift as a police Sergeant this past Monday.
Sgt. David Mambro is a 23 Year veteran of the Methuen Police Department. He was born and raised in Methuen, Massachusetts. Sgt. Mambro has been serving the Methuen Police Department most recently as a Patrol Officer in the Patrol Division of the Field Operations Bureau.
Sgt. Mambro graduated from Methuen High School in 1989 and graduated from Fitchburg State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology: Criminology Concentration and a Minor in Criminal Justice. Sgt. Mambro graduated from Western New England College in 2005 with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
Sgt. Mambro began his career with the Methuen Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer in 2000, and became a full time Police Officer when he graduated from the Lowell Massachusetts Police Academy in June of 2002. Prior to working at Methuen Police Department, Sgt. Mambro worked as an Associate Court Officer with the Trial Court of Massachusetts from 1998 to 2002.
Sgt. Mambro worked as a Patrol Officer in the Field Operations Bureau from 2002 to September of 2006 when he became a School Resource Officer. Sgt. Mambro was a School Resource Officer from September 2006 to August of 2019. While working as a School Resource Officer, he was assigned to Methuen High School from 2006-2009 and 2017, then to the Donald P. Timony School from 2009 to 2017, and 2018, and then the Comprehensive Grammar School 2019. Sgt. Mambro then returned to the Patrol Division from August 2019 to the present.
Sgt. Mambro completed training to be a certified A.L.I.C.E. instructor while working as a School Resource Officer in 2014. He has also completed the Sigarms Academy Active Shooter certification with Sig Sauer in 2014.
Sgt. David Mambro resides in Methuen with his wife Maureen of 26 years. He has three children, Amanda (24 years old), Margaret, “Maggie” (21 years old), and Rocco (19 years old). Sgt. Mambro’s children are the fourth generation in his family to live at their current residence in Methuen. Sgt. Mambro also worked in the past as a volunteer wrestling coach for the Methuen Youth Wrestling Program.
