The #Methuen Police Department Congratulates Parking Control Officer Jeff Rubino and his husband Spencer Butterfield on their wedding ceremony held on Friday, October 14, 2022.
For over 13 years, Jeff and Spencer have been very much involved in the Methuen Police community, whether it be volunteering for events, attending award ceremonies, or simply just bringing work family together. Jeff was integral in the raising of the police department’s very first Pride Flag and voices his immense appreciation and pride for his involvement in such a forward accepting department.
In gratitude of all of the support and compassion that Jeff and Spencer have received over the years, and in recognition of the lasting friendships and relationships that have grown, Jeff and Spencer included their Methuen Police Department family in their ceremony and reception. Of those with special roles in their big day was Captain Randy Haggar who officiated the ceremony and Officer Shawn Tardif, a very close friend of Jeff’s, who Jeff and Spencer asked to do a reading at their wedding ceremony.
“The show of support from the entire department has been overwhelming,” Jeff said, “It’s important to remember that each and every one of us is human under the uniform. Spencer and I are proud of our police department and grateful for the accepting and supporting relationships that we have formed and grown over the years. It meant a lot to us that we include our police family in our celebration. We wouldn’t have had it any other way on our wedding day.”
