Residents and Commuters in Methuen, beginning Monday, July 27, 2020 there will be a gas line replacement construction project on Oak Street. Work will be performed on Oak Street Monday through Friday from approximately 7am to 4pm. It is expected to take approximately three months to complete this project. This is subject to change as the project progresses.
Due to the ongoing construction, there will be several road closures and detours which initially will include a large stretch of Oak St. These detours should be reduced after the first month of construction. We will keep you updated on that.
For the initial phase the detours beginning on Monday, July 27, 2020, will be as follows:
Oak Street will be closed at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Street and at Baremeadow Street. Detour signs will be posted and Detail Officers will be on scene to assist motorists. Residential access will be permitted.
The detour On Oak Street will be Pleasant Valley Street to Milk Street to Baremeadow St back to Oak Street and the opposite if you are travelling North on Oak Street.
Residents and Commuters are urged to seek alternate routes during this time of construction.
