As we prepare for the evening commute, we would like to remind all of our Followers to take it slowwww while traveling home this evening. Please be patient and reduce speeds while traveling. Allow more than reasonable time for slowing and stopping and stay off of the roads if you can.
The roads are slick in some spots, icy in others and downright slushy! “What are we supposed to do with all of this slush,” do you ask? (You guys are all lucky that I didn’t have access to a red slushy straw or snow cone paper cone!) Please understand that some snow and slush is left on the roadways for a reason. It contains products that have been spread for melting, and we need to continue to allow time for those products to work. As a matter of fact, the slush is a direct result that our melting products ARE, in fact, working. If our plows were to plow away all snow and slush, our town roads would become a complete sheet of ice with the temperature drops. This storm has brought fluctuations in temperature and precipitation, making snow removal and ice control very difficult. Methuen crews ARE out there, working to make our streets safer for travel. Please be patient and travel safely.
