Wondering what all the traffic is about on 213 this morning ? This morning, a commercial vehicle towing an excavator struck the Howe Street bridge over 213. Massachusetts State Police, Methuen Police and Massachusetts DOT are all on scene. Howe Street Bridge will need some repairs. Stay tuned for potential closures and detours due to this crash.

UPDATE! As of 11:00am, Wednesday, July 10th, the following closures are in place.
Route 213 Eastbound on the ramp from Pleasant St is CLOSED. Pleasant St itself, heading eastbound, at this intersection, is down to one lane so that NO left turn is allowed onto 213 East.
Howe St heading southbound (Washington St toward Marston Corners) is down to 2 lanes. All traffic has been shifted to the east side of the bridge to allow for safe travel and repairs.
Route 213 Eastbound is down to one lane and will be closed intermittently throughout the repair as needed.
Please seek alternate routes of travel when you can.
These closures are expected to last throughout the week.
