METHUEN — Mayor James P. Jajuga and Chief Joseph Solomon are pleased to share that the Methuen Police Department held its 10th annual senior pasta dinner on Tuesday.
The dinner was free to Methuen seniors and was held at the city’s Senior Center at 77 Lowell St. from 4-6 p.m. The Methuen Police Patrolman’s Association and the Methuen Police Superior Officer’s Association sponsored the event and prepared ziti and meatballs for the meal, which was served with fresh bread that was donated from Piro’s Bakery on Merrimack Street. Piro’s also donated two sheet cakes for dessert at the dinner.
Refreshments were also provided at the event.
“The annual Senior Supper is a great way for our department to connect with our senior residents and give back to our community,” Chief Solomon said. “It’s also a fun, happy event for everyone involved.”
Approximately 300 seniors attended the event.
“This is a great event for our senior community, and it’s wonderful that our police department takes the initiative each year to reach out and host this meal,” Mayor Jajuga said.
