UPDATE! See attached video!
A vehicle that was stolen out of Worcester, MA in 2001 was pulled out of the Merrimack River in Methuen on December 10, 2012.
This vehicle was discovered to be in the water last week when Sgt. Havey brought the police department’s
newly purchased ROV (remotely operated vehicle) to a location on the banks of the Merrimack River where stolen vehicles had been dumped in the past. At this location, behind Jackson’s Restaurant and Peabody Supply, two motor vehicles were identified and a possible third. Due to the conditions of the water, the diver’s visibility was impaired and only one vehicle has been recovered at this time.
The second vehicle and possible third will be attempted to be recovered in the near future.
