Methuen City officials met with a community liaison from National Grid at 10 AM today. Currently City Hall and Methuen High School do not have power. City Hall is closed until tomorrow along with the schools. National Grid has several tree and power crews working the area. No accurate estimates of time for power to return are available at this time.
The City will keep the landfill open from today through Saturday between 7 AM and 5 PM. The City has waived the need for a landfill permit between these days for any resident who wishes to dispose of debris from trees that have fallen. There is no charge to drop off brush or tree debris.
The City has three private tree services working with the City tree department to cut up and clear downed trees on city property and roads. Residents are responsible for clearing trees that are on their property and have fallen.
Trick or Treat has been mover to Saturday November 3, 2012 from 5 PM – 7 PM.
