Election Rules governing Poling Locations
No persons are permitted to solicit votes or distribute political literature within a polling place, anywhere in the building where the polling place is located, on the premises where the building stands, on the sidewalk adjoining the premises where such polling place is located, or within one hundred and fifty (150) feet of the entrance to the polling place (Mass. A police officer is required to carry out the lawful commands of the presiding warden. Every election officer shall forthwith report every violation of the election laws to the police officer in attendance at the polling place and said officer shall handle the situation according to M.G.L.
Smoking is not permitted in the polling place by the public or the police officer on duty.
Live parking: Vans and other vehicles carrying numbers of people to the polling place shall discharge said passengers and move from the area. The operator should return to the area to pick up said passengers after all have voted and assembled for return transportation.
